GETTING TO PERHENTIAN ISLANDS

All options of getting to the Perhentian Islands involve departing from the jetty at Kuala Besut where you will take a speedboat to Perhentian Kecil or Perhentian Besar, depending on where you wish to stay.

Return tickets cost RM70 and can be purchased directly at the jetty. There are many boat companies operating this route and it is not necessary to buy a ticket in advance.
Once you arrive in Kuala Besut there will most likely be staff of the boat operators asking you if you want to go to the island. You might as well just go with the first person that asks you because all the operators offer the same service.

You will need to tell them which beach you want to go to when purchasing the ticket. The boat will drop you off at any of the main beaches in Perhentian including Coral Bay where Anti Gravity Divers is located.

There is no main boat schedule going out to the islands but they start running from 7am until 5pm. Typically, you won't have to wait more than one hour to get on a boat.

Coming off the island, there is a fixed boat schedule of 8am, 12pm and 4pm leaving from all the main beaches.

From Kota Bharu Airport by Taxi: From the Airport it is a 50 minute taxi ride to Kuala Besut. Taxis will cost around RM80 and can take a maximum of 4 people with baggage.
